My sincere condolences to Thelma and the family. Bobby was a hard working man and great person to have in our community. I have fond memories of Bobby during the years of Stock Car Racing. As a kid, he and my Dad would pick me up at Sunday School, in a Pulpwood Truck, with good old blue #7 Stock Car on back. Then, at the track and soon as we unloaded the car, Bobby would take me for a lap around the track. What a thrill it was ! Then later on during a break in the races, Thelma would always share her special egg sandwiches with all of us. Great memories they were.
Thelma, cherish all your precious memories.

I sent some thoughts last week but they did not get downloaded so I want to say to Thelma, Peter and family how sad it was to hear Bobby was ill and now has passed away. My late husband Gerald and Bobby used to have long chats fixing all the problems in the world. Bobby was a master auction winner and often bested me to get carrot cakes on auction at the Legion during shows. Bobby and Thelma were great supporters of the Wednesday BBQ and shows during the summer each year. They often requested “Falling Leaves” by Dave Burbine & Traditional Country to be played on my radio shows. I shed a tear last week when I played it for them. Bobby will be missed. Thelma, you have gone above and beyond in your care and I feel so sad for you. Lots of good memories and I know that you all will miss him. Hugs to you all.

To Thelma and all the family: I have fond memories of Bobby when I was growing up. Dad had a great deal of respect and trust in Bobby’s abilities. He was such a pleasant fellow and so easy to talk to. At times Dad would have him haul my horse and me from place to place such as to the valley and to the Atlantic Winter Fair at the old Halifax Forum. He was very patient to put up with me as a teenager. I also loved to cheer him on at the various stock car races on the south shore. He was a very capable driver in all ways. I have no doubt he was a marvelous husband, father and grandfather. The slide show on his site warmed my heart. I am thinking of all of you as you learn to live without this wonderful man.
