Whether it was bravery or fearlessness, it certainly brightened her already brilliant aura surrounding her, as she stood up to and exposed her attacker for what it was. Some of her videos were powerful in their own rite. She turned more heads than I could imagine, adding more awareness in her wake.
My condolences to her family and loved ones.
I am grateful to have known Susan Wortman.

We are so sorry to hear of Susan’s passing. We talked to her a number of times when she was in the VG. We admired her spirit and courage. She hoped that some avenue for treatment would be found. It is sad that ultimately treatment did not work for her, and we remember her as both a former student and classmate at North Queens and as a friend. – Tom, Sheila, Anne-Marie and Jonathan Sheppard

Gerald, Roberta…
What does one possibly say during such a heartbreaking time in another’s life. No parent should ever have to live to see the loss of their own children, and yet so many of us have, for whatever reason, been forced to endure this unspeakable fate.
Susan was a bright light in the lives of everyone she touched, and her essence will continue to live on through each of us that carry a piece of her light with us.
I do hope that each of you may find peace in knowing that she no longer has to suffer, and that her light can now go back home.
Sending hugs your way
Kathy & Vaughn Rawding

Dearest Susan, you are no longer in pain and you’re free from all the suffering. You were the funniest and most genuine woman – remember all the fun times we had in high school? Dressing like favourite teachers, listening to Bee Gees and trading goofy jokes.
Your bravery throughput all of this will not be forgotten. Deepest sympathies to your family.

Kirk:
I am sorry to hear of the quick passing of Susan. Although I did not know her well I see from the many condolences that she was a vibrant and involved sister, mom and grandmother.
Don’t fear to miss her, to mourn her and to cherish her.
Take care of yourself.
Lori Galeazza
I am so so sorry for this loss of your mom, wife, sister, daughter. There are just no words to say how heartbreaking the news of Sue’s passing is. I know your heart and soul is now missing a piece. It’s bittersweet to know her pain is over and now life continues without her. Sue was my cheering squad when I learned to ride a bike, she helped me learn to swim underwater so I could go play where the big kids were. She always let me tag along for sleep overs, camping trips, road trips, whatever adventure her friends and she were going on she never said no, sometimes she even convinced our parents it was ok for me to tag along. How many dances or proms did she dress me and do my hair for… many. Of course The Bee Gees where the sound track of our adventures. She always said “ oh my god, who cares, just be you, don’t listen to anyone else”. When I was in college, even though the girls were small she would still have many long late night phone calls with me. She never judged, never held a grudge, always there when you were ready to talk. Over time our phones got less and less as I grew up and my life got busy, for this I am sorry.
Our thoughts , love and prayers are with you.
Lori, and Gio.

My deepest condolences to all the family of Susan. I will be on the live feed to be with you. God Bless all of you.

I have known Susan for over 40 years. She was a unique light who never feared being true to herself and was so very loving. No matter how many years would pass between our visits, she made time when we could get together, usually with any other school friends we could wrangle together during my rare visits home to Nova Scotia. I will miss her amazing sense of humor and will remember her for her joy of life and love of family and friends. She touched so many lives. To her family, my thoughts are with you on this day when you say your final goodbyes.
