Dear Anne, Scott & Brian,
I’m sorry to hear of your mother’s passing, she was a lady with a kind soul. I’m sure that you must take comfort from reading the comments of Billy and Melvin who grew up in the neighborhood and pass along their childhood memories of her. Having grown up across the road, I can echo their sentiments.
I remember many years ago when my mother was away visiting her sister in Quebec, your mother baked a pan of squares or a cake for Dad and me. It turned out to be a bit of a bust because she forgot to add the baking powder into the mix. But a flat cake was better than no cake. LOL.
The last time that I saw both of your parents was at Tims (oddly enough) several years ago and we were able to have a chat and catch up.
Take care,
Jim

Anne, Scott, Brian and Families,
Very sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was always so gracious and kind, with a light in her eyes, much like you, Anne. Growing up in Liverpool, your house on Old Port Mouton Road was one of my favorites to visit, knowing your mom was genuinely welcoming, no matter what kind of scrapes we got in. She even smiled when we galloped Penny and Snowball around the ball field. And your birthday cake had money in it! May all your wonderful memories give some comfort at this difficult time.
Dave Rushton

To Anne, Scott, Brian & your families,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Its been so, so many years since I used to play with you Anne at your home & at your grandparent’s home. We must have been 10 or so. I remember your mother being such a beautifully dressed lady even when she had her apron on cooking in the kitchen. She had such a distinct voice or accent, I have such fond memories of her even after being gone from Nova Scotia for 48 years. I did see your Mum & Dad a few times when I was home for my parent’s birthdays & anniversaries. They were very awesome people. Sincere condolences & sending hugs to all your family. Your cousin Gail (DeMone) Crowe.
