My deppest condolesences to Joan and Peter’s entire family. Peter was a true Trooper and very loyal QGSAR volunteer. During some of his country drives he would visit me here in Port Mouton with Joan. Though Peter was not 100%, he always answered and rarely missed any QGSAR call for an emergency search or regular meeting. Peter was a very proud member and as noted by Kerry Gallant, he could sell as many raffle tickets given to him. Peter was a 25+ year volunteer for QGSAR team, which is actually quite a big bucket full of service to his Queens County and Nova Scotia Community. Today Peter; during a silent salute, I thank you for your fine community example and for unselfish service. Rest in peace Brother!

I’m so sorry to hear about Peter’s passing i new Peter for long time but got to know him a little more when him and Joan used to come to see Taras kid’s whenever I was outside he would always come over for a vist and we would talk and joke around he will be missed. So R.R.I.P peter

I am shocked and very sad to hear that Peter has passed away. Over the years Peter has made significant contributions to our community. He was Always interested in community affairs as many should know. Long discussions with Peter took place in just about any location where we met. I had spent several hours just this past October talking to Peter while I was campaigning. He was very proud of his work with the Ground Search and Rescue. He was relentless in his efforts to be heard. My sincere condolences to Joan and family. Peter will surely be missed.

Dear Joan…I still can’t believe Peter is gone….as a child growing up you and Peter were like second parents to me, Joey, Wally and Tanya…I have so many wonderful memories to cherish…every summer on Sunday’s we would all pack up for the day and get on the back of Peter’s truck and head for Port Joli beach where we would swim, dig clams, eat and play in the ocean until it was time to leave…you not only raised us but you raised our two girls as well…we knew the kids we in good hands…it was hard to watch you slowly slipping away from us but we know you are in a better place with your loved ones waiting on the other side with open arms and free from pain…I will hold onto these memories and when I hear someone speak your name I will smile with pride and say “I was proud to call you my Uncle”…until we meet again..Spread those Wings and Fly High Xo
