Donald Whynot

Donald S. Whynot (Donnie) – 81 of Milton Queens County Nova Scotia died suddenly at home on November 28, 2023.
Born February 21st 1942, Donnie was the youngest child of the late Elizabeth (Bessie) and Donald Whynot. Donnie started his career as a draftsman in Vancouver where he was known as Steve. While on the west coast he focused on sprinkler system design & installation, then moved on to designing safes and vaults for major banks across Canada.
Donnie returned to Nova Scotia in the late 60’s to care for his ailing mother and three sisters. Shortly after his return to Nova Scotia he started a small horticulture business, and soon after invested the proceeds into his first fishing boat, The Black Chicken. The fishing industry treated Donnie well beginning with trap fishing, which allowed him to purchase property at Moose Harbor and construct a fish plant where he purchased fish for resale as bait. Following that with many years of lobster and ground fishing on his boat Windfall 2, and later Blue Chip, which he built himself.
As the fishing operation started to wean, he decided to expand into the bar business by purchasing 21 Century Billiards Club (aka Club21), which he worked and managed until his death.
Donne is survived by his 3 sisters Laura (Fred), Ruby (Denis), and Margret (David), three legitimate children Aaron (Janet Dumeah), Kristen (Luis Isidoro) and Paige.
A celebration of life will be held in his honour on Wednesday the 13th of December at 21st Century Billiards Club (25 Carton Street, Liverpool) starting at 1pm.
No donations by request, Donnie would have preferred that you keep your money and invest it wisely. Online condolences may be made to chandlersfuneral.com
