Whynot, Carla Lynn, 60, of Liverpool passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
Born in Liverpool on March 2, 1962, she was the daughter of the late John MacIsaac and Tresa (Brannen) MacIsaac.
Carla graduated in 1980 from Liverpool Regional High School and began her working career first at Able Cable, then People’s Dept Store followed by providing childcare in her home to many children in Liverpool, during this time she also worked in the family business Whynot Services with Gaven.
Carla was a former member of the Queens County Blades, Girl Guides of Canada, Friends of Hank Snow Society and a long time member of the Woman’s Bowling League as well as the Mixed Bowling League.
Carla & Gaven loved & so enjoyed travelling on his motorcycle or by car with friends Dave & Michelle Winters throughout Canada and the United States, especially visiting her Aunt Faye’s cottage in New Hampshire, one of her favourite places. She loved her Country Music which took her to many trips to Nashville, but Carla was so excited she shared her birthday with Bon Jovi.
Carla was diagnosed almost 40 years ago with Type 1 Diabetes, which gave her many challenges over the years but her faith, strength & zest for Life helped her to fight the fight until she couldn’t anymore.
She is survived by her mother Tresa, sisters Charlene MacIsaac, Cynthia( Rick) Dorey all of Liverpool and Denise (Harold) Whynot of Bridgewater, niece Presley Whynot (Nathan Bristol) and nephew Bret Whynot all of Halifax.
Also survived by her stepchildren Michelle Colp, Stephen (Shelia) Whynot , step grandchildren Haley ( Brandon ) Publicover, Jared Colp, Hayden & Deihl Whynot all of Liverpool.
Carla was predeceased by her husband Gaven & father John MacIsaac.
She will be lovingly missed by her “Little Sweet Pea” Muffy.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A Celebration of Life for Carla will take place at a later date. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc.

I was so saddened to hear of Carla’s passing. I know losing Gaven and dealing with her health issues had made the last few years very difficult for her, but she continued on despite those challenges. I know her family meant everything to her and helped sustain and comfort her. She certainly loved Muffy who brought her so much joy. It is so hard to lose the people we love. I hope you will all find comfort in your many memories of Carla and in your family and friends and this most difficult time.

To Carla’s family , Carla will remain in my memory as a truly good person with an uplifting presence that could be felt whenever she was near. My days with her at Peoples are cherished as a time when her friendship meant a lot and a time when she struggled with the news of being diagnosed with diabetes. She met every challenge with bravery and still went on to do so much for others in her life.A true example for others, her spirit is surely flying ,free of earthly burdens now.Gone but not forgotten. Much love to the family and friends mourning her loss.

I’m saddened to hear of Carla’s passing. My first memory of Carla was a performance she did for Queens County Blades. It was a beautiful routine to Last Kiss. I remember how effortlessly she did the spiral. There was also a wiggle between the verse and the chorus where one hand was on her hip and the other pointed in the air. I wanted so much to be able to skate like her. My deepest condolences to her family.
