WHYNOT – Basil E., 76, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Born in Liverpool, Basil was a son of the late Raymond and Edith (Anthony) Whynot.
Basil was office manager at the local Irving Oil Bulk Plant in Liverpool for twenty years. Following the closing of the plant, Basil worked at the Liverpool Golf and Country Club as a groundskeeper for eleven years. In his earlier years, Basil enjoyed golfing and hunting. Later, Basil was most at home riding his Harley. Basil most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Basil is survived by his companion, Sandra Lowe; daughters: Nicole Whynot (Kyle Nickerson) of Liverpool; Terri Lowe (Keith Allison) of Brooklyn and Traci Hatt (David Joudrey) of Mersey Point. His sons Raymond Whynot (Janice Lowe) of Milton; Ricky Whynot of South Brookfield and Tim Lowe of Blockhouse. Grandchildren: Josh Whynot (Yolanda), Haley Whynot (Brad), Evan (Kelsey) Whynot, Justin Lowe (Kim), Jayme Jesso, Logan Hatt (Emily), Bailey Johnson, Scarlett Whynot and Preston Whynot. Great grandchildren Hazel Mae Lowe and Chandler Roach. His sister Betty Whynot of Liverpool and his special nieces May Whynot and Ann Whynot.
Besides his parents, Basil was predeceased by his brother Horace.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 6 until 8 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel where family will be gathering to meet with friends. All are welcome to attend to pass along condolences and memories of Basil. No flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
