Norman, Bonnie and Family. I am so sorry to walk into the Home last Friday and find out that my short lived friend had passed away. Doug, befriended myself and my Mother approx a year ago when she became a resident of the facility. He helped guide us through the day to day structure and kept Mom company at the dining hall and activities that were available to her. As well, Doug played a mean piano which I enjoyed so much so that he inspired me to once again, after 50 years, sit down and start playing once again. He instructed me on which key board to buy and on my 70th a few months ago, I received my key board. I will certainly, miss our almost daily chats, sing songs, shopping sprees, but most of all, I will miss our short but ever so sweet friendship. Somewhere over the Rainbow, Doug, I feel your peace. Lovingly.

Norman and Bonnie, Mom, Cheryl, and Nancy share the grief that comes with the news.
Doug was a special person who filled our lives with music, humour, food, and love. I know that he is now entertaining Edith, Papa, Granny Coombs, and Eric. His friends, Joe Carlo, Roger, Patrick, Suzanne, Bill, Paul, David, and others who have gone before are watching a sunset, drink in hand, in honour of a life lived to the max with the volume pedal down to the floor.
Those of us who knew and loved him have memories that echo in refrain.
