WENTZELL – Dorris M., 91, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
Born in Milton, Queens County, Dorris was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Katie (Woodworth) Whynot.
Dorris worked in various stores in Liverpool over the years. She was a fun and caring person to everyone who knew her. She enjoyed her daily visits with her best friend, Arleen, along with several phone calls a day. She also was very happy that her nephew, Robbie Andrews, called her often to check in on her and just to have a chat. It was the highlight of her day to hear his voice.
Dorris is survived by her sister Marjorie Jollimore of Brooklyn, her special nephew Robert (Sandra) Andrews, of Airdrie, AB along with several other nieces and nephews, as well as her best friend Arleen MacNutt (Chester Wamboldt).
Besides her parents, Dorris was predeceased by her husband Harold and her sisters Edith Andrews, Lela Oickle and Barbara in infancy.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Milton Community Cemetery. No flowers. Donations may be made to the Milton Christian Church, Disciples of Christ or to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
Thank you to Dr. Ernest and his receptionist, Pat, Dr. Burrill, nursing staff in Queens General Hospital Outpatient Department and second floor Medical Floor for your care, compassion and kindness shown to Dorris.
