Condolence from Cora Heath on March 21st, 2017 2:44 pm

Collette was the first person to give me a job as a hairdresser after I graduated from the school in 1965. At the time she couldn’t give me full time work, so I went back to the city. I used to see her when I came home for visits. I didn’t know she had gone into a nursing home. I remember her fondly, she was good to me. She’s another person I will look for in the new system that Jehovah God promises through his Kingdom, that we pray for. Matthew 6:9,10. She will be resurrected, (John 5: 28,29), she will be able to live on earth forever, (Psalm 37:29,34). May Jehovah, the god of all comfort, (2Corinthians 1:3-5) be with you and your family at this sad time. Sincerely Cora Heath.

Diane and family:

I am sorry to hear your Mom has passed away. Collette gave me my first job when I was 13 working after school at her hair salon on Main Street in Liverpool. I was her “shampoo girl” and worked Friday after school and on Saturdays. .I believe I made about 15 cents an hour… imagine that. I had made my own spending money then. I always remembered the kindness she showed me and gave me a good start working as a young girl.
Also I remember having her as a sponsor when I worked for Able Cable. She sponsored my program on Channel 8, did my hair for the show and helped support the program. I really appreciated that. My sincere condolence to you and your family.

Condolence from Glen DeMond on March 23rd, 2017 7:20 pm

Dear Diane,David, Daniel, and Dennis, & Georgette:

So sorry Colette has passed on, she was a fine lady, and friend of mine, and our circle of friends. She, Alice and George, Donald and Emma, Murray and myself had many enjoyable dinners together at our various homes , followed by games of 45’s. I helped her move from Liverpool to Port Mouton, and again from Port mouton to Hunts Point, with my little Ford Ranger… she was so appreciative and such a good sport. Then I visited her at Lockeport, surf Lodge and finally at N.Q.Nursing Home during her lasting illness. I will miss her, as will you .With my deepest sympathy

Glen

Condolence from Elaine & Raymond Kempton on March 23rd, 2017 7:58 pm

Dear Diane, Dennis, David, Daniel & Georgette,
Sorry to hear of Colette’s passing. She is at peace now, no more worries.
I have many memories of her & we go back many years. In 1969 I studied my Hairdressing course with her & continued to work with her for another 5years. She taught me good work ethics. Had lots of trips to the Conventions in Halifax. She was very kind in that she paid all my expenses & for taking classes while there.
Over the years we kept in touch & I visited her when she came to Caledonia. At first there would be recognition of me for a flash & later on her memory failed. My oldest daughter works at the Home & she was very kind to your Mom. Your Mom had a sweet tooth & Julie-Anne would treat her with fudge that I would make.
Cherish your memories.
