It is with great sadness that I offer my condolences to Christine’s family. She was without a doubt, one of the nicest, sweetest people you could ever meet. She had strong love and devotion to her family, her friends and to the Blacksmith Shop Museum which was easy to see whenever she mentioned them. I had many chats with Christine over the years and enjoyed hearing about her family, her family history and her travels. They will always be special memories to me. My thoughts are with the entire family, especially Mike and Mikaela at this very sad time.

Dear Family:
I am so sorry to hear of Christine’s passing. I shall always remember her greeting to me ” Bonjour Valerie ” for a second I thought I could speak french, so answered back “Bonjour Christine”. She would say another sentence, then I realized I can’t speak french, but she sure could. I will miss running into her and her wonderful happiness she spread around. No more suffering and no more pain she is safe in Heaven.

Dear Mike, Mikka and family,
Words cannot express the extreme sorrow we feel at this time. Christine was a lovely woman, mother and wife who will be missed dearly by all those who knew her. Her sense of humor even during her illness and willingness to not go without a fight, only proves the strength that was in her. Her time came way too soon as she had so much to live for and so many more important milestones in her life to accomplish. To Mikka, know that we love you dearly as if you were are own and we will always be there for you. We are always only a phone call or text away, but I know you know that. Love always and forever.

Dear Mikaela and Family;
Although we did not know your Mom or for that matter your Dad either very well, it is quite apparent that both of them were and are wonderful parents and people. Take faith in knowing that your Mom’s goodness will live on in the values and love she instilled in you and those she touched in life. You will see her again in heaven. She is now an angel watching over you saying, “Have fun but study hard and be good.”
We will pray for your family.

We both offer our deepest condolences to you at this extremely hard time. Your mom was a bright soul who always welcomed everyone into her life with loving open arms. We are always here for you, we think of you guys so very often and we love you very deeply. Mikka, you have very loving people in your life, I admire you greatly. It was with great sadness that I read in today’s paper of Christine’s passing. While I knew her mostly on a professional basis when I employed by the NS Museum, we also had times when we just talked and got to know each other. Christine was the consummate museum curator and it was always a pleasure to visit the Blacksmith Shop. The community of Milton and the museum community were very fortunate to have her work on their behalf.

It is with great sadness that I am writing this because I truly wish it wasn’t so. A beautiful lady inside and out is gone way too soon. I know I will never walk by the Blacksmith shop again without thinking about her and remembering the great chats we had and wishing there would be more…..Her smile and positive uplifting attitude could make my day. Take comfort in knowing that she held a special place in so many hearts and will be missed so much. She truly was one of the best.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Christine. She was a quiet and exceptionally nice person and fellow student who helped me a lot when I was trying to learn English in Grades 5, 6 and 7 in Port-Cartier. I tried for a while to get a hold of some fellow classmates of those days and only located Madeline. I wish I could have talked to Chistine myself. We had not met or spoken since grade 7. All of a sudden I get this terrible news on facebook. My thoughts and prayers are with Christine,family and friends. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Guy Chenel
