My heart actually hurt when I read that Mike had passed away. He was one of the most kindest man I have ever had the pleasure to meet. From his service station days to 4-wheeling to coming to see Murray when he was sick but mostly for the best hugs whenever I saw him; at the firemen’s breakfast, weddings, funerals, or the store, he always would give me a hug and I sure appreciated them. I will miss you big guy. Dear Carol, Mikaela and Coralee, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss as I know how dearly he will be missed. God Speed Mike.

Dear Carol,
When I saw Mike’s obituary among my e-mails, time stood still for a minute. I couldn’t believe what I had just read and had to read it a second time – and then I just sat, gazing at Mike’s picture, with tears running down my cheeks. Both you and Mike had already suffered the pain of losing a spouse and it seemed so right that you and Mike would end up with each other. The happiness that you shared was evident to all who knew you and we rejoiced with you, sure that you and Mike would share many years of happiness as the time rolled by. Mike will be remembered as a very caring and compassionate ‘gentle giant’ who would do anything in his power to help someone else out, if they were in need of a helping hand. Treasure your memories of the time that you had together, Carol, and know that the love and prayers of your many friends are with you at this very sad time in your life. – Lynn xoxo

Oh my, it was a shock to see that Mike had passed away. I was looking forward to catching-up with him on my next trip back home…but I’ve waited too long. We started LRHS in the same room and remained friends throughout our high school years. Mike always had a presence, and usually an attractive girl on his arm. He had a little white Vauxhall Victor that served him well for several years. As so many have noted, he was friendly with a big welcoming smile. He got to see much of country, finding work in various fields as he migrated, only to return to his roots a few years ago. My condolences to Mikaela, Coralee and Carol. I recall how proud he was of you graduating from Acadia Mikaela. Cherish the memories and carry his good natured spirit with you.
