TOWNSEND – Ivan Murray “Muzz” 79, of Bridgewater, formerly of Port Joli, Queens County, passed away peacefully in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
Born in Lockeport, Shelburne County, he was a son of the late Murray Dexter and Myrtle Elizabeth (Stephens) Townsend.
Ivan drove mail for 10 years and school bus for 36 years. He did carpentry and was a lobster fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice Carol (Teal); his sons Gary (Brenda) of Liverpool, Gordon (Pamela) of Wolfville, Greg (Dawn) of Wileville, Wade (Wendy) of Chester Basin, Hugh (Carol Ann Snair) of Hubbards. Grandchildren Sarah, Jonathan, Meighan, Kathryn, Joshua, Morgan, Emily, Mandy, Nicholas and great granddaughter Emma. His sisters Delilah (Cedric) Lowe of Hebbville, Muriel Chetwynd of Lydgate, Leola (Robert) Bradley of Turtle Creek, NB. Brother Lyall of Sable River.
He was predeceased by his brother William.
A private family interment will be held at a later date. Family will meet with friends on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 3:30 until 5:00 p.m. at the West Queens Recreational Centre, Riverhead Road, Port Mouton.
