Thorbourne, Lawrence Gregory -82, Liverpool, NS
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother in law and friend.
Born in Liverpool, Larry was a son of the late Harry “Bud” and Audrey (Kaulback) Thorbourne.
Larry was an avid sportsman, hunter, carpenter and all around go to guy who was loved by many. There are quite a few homes that have his hand prints on them. His greatest love was family and making sure they were okay, his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were at the fore front of things.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Wanda (Whynot); sons, Brad (Tina) of Brooklyn, Todd of Liverpool; daughter, Tina (Mel) of Hebb’s Cross; grandchildren, Lindsay (Walter), Jeremy (Megan), Joshua (Jen), Cole (Jenn), Rebecca (Aaron), Matthew (Alisha); great grandchildren, Hunter, Kassidy, Jasmine, Kaiden Lowe, Tatum, Arianna and Roman Thorbourne, Gregory and Lizabeth Fisher; brother, Wayne (Mabel) Thorbourne; sisters, Linda Thorbourne and Paula Freeman; brother in laws, Eddy (Marilyn) Whynot, Orean Whynot, Kirk (Donna) Whynot and Faron (Jackie) Whynot, sister in laws Coreen (Greg) Thorbourne and Shelly (Michael) Connolly.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a great grandson, Mason Frail; sister, Andrea Thorbourne; sister in laws, Claudette Thorbourne and Carol Whynot; parents in law, Wallace and Barbara Whynot and brother in law, Hartford Whynot.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandler’s Funeral Home. There will be no service as per Larry’s request. Donations may be made to the War Amps of Canada. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
The family would like to thank the SSRH and the 3rd Floor Med/Surgical unit, but our heartfelt thanks goes to his favorite nurse, Paula, your compassion and care that you gave to our loved one gave us peace, thank you so much.
Offer Condolence for the family of Thorbourne; Lawrence Gregory

Larry was like family to us; someone who wanted us to be our best, shook his head when we weren’t, laughed when we messed up but was always ready to help us out of that mess. He treated our kids with kindness and had a special spot in his heart for Megan, as she did for him. He could grow cucumbers and tomatoes like nobody else. He had a great dry sense of humour and we always enjoyed our chats with him in the backyard. He was irreplaceable and will be very missed by us all. Hugs and love to his family. We are holding you all close in our hearts.

Dear Wanda and family – we are deeply saddened by Larry’s passing. We will never forget the skilled. Carpentry work he did for us at our cottage in Port Mouton. That included the rider mower shed he built and signed as “Larry’s Cottage”. We smiled when I saw where he placed the single window – facing the apple trees that attract deer in the fall. Whenever we were in Liverpool on our few annual visits, we alway looked forward to seeing Larry and his dry sense of humor as well as a source of how-to’s for tackling any problem at the cottage. I know this – they’ll be a roar of thunder if I don’t deal correctly with future cottage issues! RIP Larry, and much love to Wanda. Casey & Anne
