
Thorbourne – Barbara Kate, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.
Born in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Winnifred (Emeno) Legge.
Barbara worked as a clerk at the Liverpool Steadman’s Store in her younger years, before brining up her family. Barbara lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, crossword puzzles and bowling which she continued to do well into her 80’s. She was a longstanding member of the Milton Christian Church, Disciples of Christ for many years helping out in many capacities. Barbara’s greatest joy in life was her family and she greatly loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Christopher (Pat) of Pembroke, Ontario, Phillip (Sharon) of Milton, William Hugh (Judy) of Surettes Island and James (Joanne) of Inuvik, N.W.T.; four grandchildren, Michael (Sara), Matthew, Amanda and Bradley; great grandchildren, Spencer, Riston, Morgan, Cian and Soren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Perry; daughters, Dale and Elizabeth; sisters, Dorothy and Phyllis; brothers, John and Arthur.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Reverend Russell Prime officiating. Reception to follow. Burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Bog Road, Liverpool. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
