Oh Robin …I am trying so hard to be strong but my weaknesses are taking over….I miss him so much already….I look up the road and I wish I still seen him coming down the road in his pj”s and his cane already to play cards…..I know we were expecting this but it still hurts so much…I” ll miss him turning my ornaments backwards when I’m not looking and screwing my Christmas light bulbs out on his way home…You are always on my mind…..Remember we are just down the road if you need anything….His wings were growing as our hearts were breaking……..He is pain free now and with Mom. Dad, Vernon & Rick ……Love you and you will always be part our family…..Love you xox

My heart goes out to you Robin. No words can be expressed to help your pain. To Allen Sr; Mike; Stephane; and all of Doug’s Grand children my heart goes out to you as well. Try to be as strong as you can and be there as much as you can for each other; that was always his wish; FAMILY IS VERY IMPORTANT!
I wanted to share a moment with you; that Dougy and I had together, such a long time ago. I hope to help you be so proud of Doug and maybe put a little smile at this terrible time.
Many years ago I was pregnant with Doug’s first Grand Child; Allen Jr. I was also a hunter and it was hunting season and I wanted to go hunting. Dougy did not like the fact I was out in the woods alone. I was only down the road from His and Robin’s home. So every half an hour, he would drive his loud (muffler gone) truck down where I was camped out, waiting for my first deer.
Well after about a couple of hours of him coming down with that loud truck; “WE” decided (meaning he did for me.. lol.. but I did agree happily) that it would be best to call it a day because there was nothing around. And that it would that I should start my hunting adventures after Allen was born; seeing Dougy wanted to meet him the old fashion way; and not a hunting accident.
We giggled many years later when I was expecting his second Grand Child Steven. He reminded me of my hunting adventure and his noisy truck. And that he will go and fix up a truck for that very same reason. He informed me that “hunting while pregnant with his grand babys is not in the cards!”
He always had a way to make you smile!! He is an awesome man and will be DEARLY missed!! Rest in peace Dougy!

Philip, Angela Jones and Family
To my Friend Robin and family. I was very saddened to hear of the passing of my friend Doug. Doug lived for the day and always had a smile and outgoing way about him. We would always see who would arrive at Tim Hortons’ early in the morning no matter what the weather was like. In winter as I was cleaning my driveway of snow, I would see Doug pulling up in front of my house and ask if I had a coffee yet, I would joke and say if the snow wasn’t as deep I would have been the first to get the coffee. After having his coffee Doug would head back home to have his breakfast of Toast , Eggs’, Coffee and of course that smelly Bacon that Robin did not like, LOL. This has been a very hard time for you Robin and your family with all that has happened in the past year. Angela and I are so grateful to have known a great man with a loving wife who never judged us. I truly will miss my friend and we are there for you anytime you need a friend to talk to at any time of the day. Doug Loved life but mostly his first love was that of Robin and his family. Again; Angela, Philip , Marshall and Tyler will remember Doug for many years to come.
Mike Nicholl
