Edith Roxina Shepard

Shepard – Edith Roxina, 84, of Hunts Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Born in Beech Hill Farms, Queens County, Edith was a daughter of the late Arthur and Stella (Williams) MacGowan.
In Edith’s younger years, she worked for Arbor Acres Poultry Farms with her husband Donald. The two moved to Nova Scotia where Edith worked for Bud McLeod’s fish plant up until her retirement. Donald and Edith were lucky to travel through out the Maritimes and United States hauling fish products. Edith enjoyed bingo and knitting, especially afghans.
Edith is survived by her husband Donald; her sons Walter (Tricia) of Clark’s Harbour and Arthur (Nicole) of Dartmouth. Two grandchildren. Her sister Martha (Harvey) Inness of Hunts Point.
Besides her parents, Edith was predeceased by her brother Stedman.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. At Edith’s request, there will be no funeral service. No flowers, donations may be made to the Red Cross or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made below.
