
SELIG – Raymond, 80, of Port Medway, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Monday, September 14, 2015.
Born in Port Medway, he was a son of the late Adam and Myrtle (Hubley) Selig.
Raymond worked on the Great Lakes in the early fifties and in 1964, went to the states to work as a painter until his retirement in 2000 when he returned to Port Medway.
He is survived by his daughter Linda (William) Briggs of Albany, NY; his son Clifford, of Altamont, NY; grandchildren Tyler, Colton, Cliff and Connor. Sisters Irene (Wallace) Sarty of Liverpool and Annabelle (George) Manning of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Brothers Ernest of Port Medway and Wilson (Sally) New York. Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 7 until 9 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Funeral service will be Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Port Medway United Baptist Church. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Anglican Cemetery, Port Medway. to the selig family, i knew raymond from friday night dances at the liverpool legion he always came to the dances and he enjoyed himself and he was a very quiet man. he never talked alot but he always had a smile for me.on a friday night he and i would talk a little bit. he will be missed at those dances on a friday night. my condolences to you and the selig family. raymond you will always be a part of friday night dances. rip my friend.
