SELIG – Clarence Elmer, age 85, of Mill Village, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.

Born in Port Medway, Queens County, Clarence was a son of the late Aubrey and Jennie (Hubley) Selig.

Clarence spent most of his working life as a lobster fisherman and working for Medway Fisheries. He also worked road construction in his earlier years. In his spare time, Clarence enjoyed digging clams, picking blueberries, listening to old time country music and going for drives in his pickup truck that always had to have a full tank of gas.

He is survived by sons, Clarence (Janice Reid), Terry (Crystal) both of Mill Village; grandchildren, C.J.(Becky) and Thomas (Cindy); step grandchildren, Christopher, Mae and Tina; great step granddaughter Sarah, sister, Elinor Selig-Roberts, of Port Medway.

He was predeceased by a son Richard; sisters, Kathleen and Joyce.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 7 until 9 p.m. and funeral service will be Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Pastor Fred Carr officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Port Medway. Family flowers only, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.     I remember years ago when i use to visit the Selig home in Volgers Cove many times and i enjoyed every time there hanging out with his son,Richard.The family was great,always.RIP Clarence.Richard and you are together again.Clarence and Terry,i am sorry for your loss
