ROY – Valerie Ann, 67, of Mersey Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Friday, July 28, 2017 with her family by her side.
Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Laurie and Effie (Barnes) Corkum.
Valerie worked for the former K & W Bookbinding Limited in Liverpool for a number of years. She was an avid dog lover, loved to talk on the phone for hours on end and had an obsession with housework. She will be fondly remembered by her family (whom she loved with all her heart) as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother .
She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years Tony, her son Jeff Eisnor (Lenora Chaulk) of Mount Uniacke; her granddaughter Meghan Eisnor of Halifax, her step granddaughter Kelsey Chaulk (Coty Swim) and her step great grandson Braeden Swim. Her sister Sharon (Richard Roy) of Liverpool; her step sister Pauline Conrad; her step sisters in law: Wendy Fisher (Dana Williams) of Hunts Point; Millie (Glen) Spinks of Mersey Point; Julie (Arthur) Hurshman of Liverpool; Dollie (Irving) Tudge of Ottawa; Elizabeth Whynot of Liverpool. Her brothers in law: Ricky (Annette) Roy, Rex (Emily) Roy and Kenny (Susan) Roy, all of Southwest Port Mouton and Kim Risser of Bridgewater.
She was predeceased by her step father Emerson Conrad; her step son Scott Roy; sister Geraldine “Gerry” Risser; brother Robert “Bob” (Shirley) Corkum; Step-brother Emerson Conrad Jr.; brother in law Harold Whynot.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. At Valerie’s request, there will be no funeral service. No flowers, donations may be made to the Queens SPCA. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
