
Roy Richard L., 76, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
Born in Liverpool, Richard was a son of the late Lincoln and Margaret (McCoombs) Roy.
Richard started his career working at Steel and Engine Products Ltd. (STENPRO), Liverpool at the foundry, then went to work for the Town of Liverpool in the electrical department. He later worked with Nova Scotia Power as a linesman retiring from the stockroom . He enjoyed tending horses and cattle and had his own hobby farm in his younger years. He enjoyed hunting and gardening and kept his yard spotless. Richard will always be remembered as a generous and gentle man.
Richard is survived by his brothers Ronald (Karen), Arthur (Shirley), Jeff (Angela) all of Liverpool and Brian (Colleen) of Treemont, also his best friend Doots.
Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his nephew Wade and his infant niece Meredith Grace.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Visitation will be Monday January 13, 2020 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m. both in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool Reverend Fred Carr officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Bog Road, Liverpool, NS. No flowers by request, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
