Emily McLeod and Family
To Sharon, Judy, Betty, and family members: Your mother, sister, grandmother, and Nannie was a lovely person. I remember my father (Bud) telling Mom and I that Mildred was “better than the men” at supervising workers at McLeod Fisheries. He sounded surprised at the time (though Mom and I weren’t all that surprised!). He was extremely proud to give the toast to her and Carl when they got marrried and we discussed the wording of “formalizing the commitment they made a long time ago”. Stella Doggett told him that she particularly enjoyed that phrase. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time.
Love, Emily and family

Jane Roy
To Sharon, Judy and Betty, Many years ago I worked in the office at McLeod fisheries with Judy and Betty. I met Mildred during that time. In later years I met Sharon when I worked at QGH. Throughout the years I would bump into your mom, sister and she always gave a smile and a little nod of her head in recognition. She had a way about her and in my mind a very nice lady. I lost my own mom in Sept. and I know the pain associated with your loss. May Good Memories bring a smile to your face and comfort to your heart.

Hello to the family of Mildred.
I would like to say that I always observed that Mildred had so much love for children, not just those in her family, but her kindness also extended to the rest of the children in the community. She was always interested to hear how they were, and as she watched them grow up, she would continue to ask if things were going well for them in their lives. They just don’t make them like Mildred anymore. Her spirit will live on in her hometwon of Port Mouton, and we will all miss her.
