Roy; Arnold Vincent

February 28, 2022 63 Condolences

Arnoldinframe 3

ROY – Arnold Vincent, 77, of Mersey Point, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on February 26, 2022.
Born in Southwest Port Mouton, Arnold was a son of the late Floyd and Edna (Fisher) Roy.
Arnold was as strong as the dedicated, unwavering love of his wife, Judy, who nursed and cared for him so that he could remain at home for as long as possible. If love doesn’t heal all, it most certainly , at the very least, can extend one’s life, for she was his life support for a great while.
Arnold worked hard his whole entire life. He has various jobs at C. W. MacLeod Fisheries eventually becoming head carpenter and overseeing construction of a large addition to the plant. He worked for various contractors after that, always thoroughly enjoying his line of work. During his time off, he didn’t like to sit still for long and was always happy to lend a hand or answer questions regarding construction for anyone who needed it. His last project was the one he was especially passionate about; helping his son build his summer home. It was an intense labour of love, filled with plenty of blood, sweat and maybe a few curse words, but he looked forward to it every day. The end result was something to be proud of.
He also had a love for antique and classic cars. He and Judy attended many shows in years past even winning a few awards. In his leisure time, he and his family enjoyed camping for many years at Ponhook Lodge Campground. In his prime, Arnold was fond of big family gatherings, planked fish, potlucks and horse shoes.
Arnold was of sharp mind and stellar memory up until recently, having the uncanny ability to recall names and events from the past like no other. He retained information like a sponge and seemed to know a little about everything.
After his retirement, he still had “ants in his pants” syndrome and never sat at home for long. He was most content when he could find someone who he could “shoot the shit” with. Western Head Auto Salvage was his second home; Scott and Tracy were his other family.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judith (Levy); his son Jimmy (Melissa), his daughter Sherri, granddaughter Corrina and his sister Valerie as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his sister Juanita, his brothers Reid and Buster and his nephew Joel.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. No flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com

Judy, Jimmy, Sherri and Valerie, I am so saddened to hear of Arnold’s passing. As a child, I enjoyed spending some Sunday dinners at Aunt Edna’s and Uncle Floyd’s with the family. Arnold always had an active role in the discussions around the table and I thought he must be one of the smartest people alive. He always had a smile whenever we met. Judy,Jimmy,Sherri and family. There are no words that can tell you how sorry we are for your loss. Such a special friend, business partner in crime lol, and true kind soul that has left us. Over the past Many years Arnold,Papa ( Tracy) and Scott had many miles, auctions and arguments to who was right. Arnold So loved his family. He always treated our kids with such kindness. Our hearts hurt for you all, and for the Friend that has left us. He
always went beyond to help us through many things at any given time with just the reason of wanting to do something. That smirk and head nod will never be forgotten. Love to you all.

Judy, Jimmy ,Sherri and family, we are so sorry to hear of Arnold’s passing. We are so thankful for all the efforts that your whole family provided to allow us to maintain our old home in Port Mouton, along with the friendship and caring for my father in the later years of his life.
Arnold was always ready ,willing and able to take on any challenge to gets things repaired in our house at the most reasonable cost to us.
May you Rest In Peace Arnold.

    February 28, 2022 at 8:47 pm

    Judy, Jimmy, Melissa and Sherri
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
We were so blessed to have Arnold and Judy living next door to us in Port Mouton. My dad always said the best thing he ever did was to sell property to them on which to build a house and home.
Arnold always “looked after” our home after our parents passed away. He was the first person we would call on if we had a problem.
A good friend, a helpful neighbour, a dedicated, knowledgeable, and observant helper, kindness personified! These words cannot adequately describe the full extent of Arnold’s impact on our family. He will be missed, not only by his own family, but by ours as well. We will truly miss him!
