Anna and George,
I just got the call last night from mom telling me about Troy’s passing. I can’t believe that when I saw him last year at their anniversary it would be the last time I saw him alive. Far too young and far too quickly. We’re praying for you in this time of sadness.

Saying goodbye to an old friend is always hard but I think this one is the hardest one yet. I will always remember his laugh, his good nature and his happy go lucky attitude. I will miss his “hello old lady” as he is the only one I ever allowed to call me that. You two were made for one another and it makes me very sad that it has come to an abrupt end. We shared some good times on our trips and I will always remember them fondly. If you ever need anything, you know I am just a phone call away. Luv you and take care.
Kathy Rafuse & Daniel Robichaud
Mary, there are no words that Daniel and I , could offer that would help ease the immediate loss and suffering you are feeling…..but I think you might share the belief that there is a place after dealth, whether it is with god ,another type of creator ,or maybe it’s within our own memmories… I believe that Troy was spared a lengthy suffering with such a horrible disease because of his readiness to help others…I am sure you will forever have a watchful angel beside you ,take comfort in that ……the Christian Bible in the book of Matthew 5:4 says..Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. There is no word for good-bye in Mi’kmaq. There is a term that is informally translated (Ne’multes.) which means ” Be seeing you again…………….take comfort in that ,Daniel and I will be away for the next week but Mary our hearts will be with you ..don’t hold in your tears because the spirit needs to hear and see our tears ,because this will create a light helping Troy find his way on his next journey..take care Mary when the nights are long call I’m here xoxo K & D

I looked up to Troy so very much, I remember when I was a new member and a new operator, Troy always made time to teach me what ever, he could pass on, I would not be an operator right now if it was not for Troy taking the time to teach me what he knew. I am going to miss our little talks that we had at the landfill, Rest in piece my friend. Art Malone

To Mary and all of Troy’s family
We were so saddened to hear about your loss. I will miss Troy’s bi-weekly visit to our neighborhood. Troy struck me as a very genuine man who I looked forward to seeing for our Tuesday morning chats. It was obvious how much he loved his family in how he spoke of you all. Mary, I know that your trips to Cuba together were a special a highlight to him.
To know that even though we didn’t know each other really well, he would think of us and bring back a memento from your Cuba trips was touching. It just goes to show what a big-hearted guy Troy was. It was good to have know him. Again, he will be sadly missed. May God bless you and watch over you.

So sorry to hear of Troy’s passing. He was in our home several years ago helping install our furnace. We remember this big man who showed such patience, and his warm smile. Take care of yourself and know that time does help the healing.

Mary, George, Anna and Family,
I served in the Liverpool Fire Department with Troy for nearly 15 years. He will be missed by all, but never forgotten. I knew Troy was sick, but I only found out officially what he had, and how sick he was only a few hours before he passed away. About an hour after he passed, we were loading the trucks to respond to a House Fire in Western Head when another fire fighter told me the grim news. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
