ROBERTS – Rhonda Louise, 49, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Queens General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Liverpool, Rhonda was a daughter of Lawrence and Audrey (Fancy) Roberts of Brooklyn.
If you had the good fortune to know Rhonda, you would be sharing our emotions of deep sadness as well as distinct pride. Rhonda enriched the lives of all those who met her. She was a compassionate leader within her family, a dynamic athlete in sports playing softball on both The Devils and the Stray Cats, a loving, caring daughter and mother, and a powerful member of the Pharmasave team. Rhonda played hardball on The Canada Games team and on July 13, 2018 was inducted into The Hants County Softball Hall of Fame.
Graduating from Liverpool Regional High School, she attended Acadia University enrolling in a Bachelor of Business Administration. She returned to Liverpool and started her career in Retail with Peoples Department Store. Rhonda joined Reynolds Pharmasave in 1989, quickly proved her interpersonal skills and was invited to work with the Dispensary team. Her joy in the pursuit of excellence coupled with her strong sense of fairness made her a leader on the team and a favourite with her clients. She always showed an amazing sense of humour.
Surviving besides her parents are her daughter Madison and her son Caleb (Hayleigh Smith) both of Liverpool. Her sister Monica Roberts (Mark Whynot) of Milton and her brother Lyle of Brooklyn.
She was predeceased by her sister Hillary Ann Roberts.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Seaside Cemetery, Gardner Road, Brooklyn. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Queens SPCA or for chairs in the Chemotherapy ward of SSRH. Online condolences may be made to www.chandersfuneral.com
