
RHODENIZER – Muriel May, 83, of Mill Village, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, NS on Friday, April 5th, 2013.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Caleb and Gladys (Lantz) Hirtle.
Muriel was postmaster for the Mill Village Post Office for 18 years. She was an auxiliary member of the Mersey Branch #38, Royal Canadian Legion, Liverpool and a member of Bethany United Church in Mill Village as well a life member of United Church Women. Muriel was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and card player. She enjoyed attending the variety shows and music jams.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Charles) Corkum, of Mill Village; her sons Steven (Sonia) of Middle Cornwall; Kevin (Karla) of Bridgewater, James (Deborah) of Port Medway. Her grandchildren Michelle (Robert) Stewart of Halifax and Terrilyn Rhodenizer, Kayla Rhodenizer and Kyle Rhodenizer, all of Bridgewater. Her great grandchildren Jaymee, Nicholaus and Abbigail Stewart. Her sister Jeanette Dagley of Bridgewater.
She was predeceased by her husband Edson, an infant sister Barbara and her sister Beulah.
Visitation will be (Monday, April 8th, 2013) from 7 until 9 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 9th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethany United Church, Mill Village. Lay Minister Peter Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Mill Village Cemetery.
