Anthony Alvin “Tony” Rafuse

Rafuse – Anthony Alvin (Tony) 81 of Charleston, Queens County, passed away peacefully at Queens General Hospital in Liverpool, on June 11, 2016.
Born in Charleston, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Marion (Anthony) Rafuse.
Tony was a diesel mechanic, retiring from Bowater Mersey Paper Company Ltd. in 1996. He also worked many years for Steel and Engine Products Ltd. as a Diesel Mechanic. Tony enjoyed spending time with his loving wife of 57 years Maxine, his family, gardening and trout fishing in his favorite spot on the Medway.
Tony is survived by his wife Maxine (Schnare), Tim (Kathy) of Cornwall, Tony (Kathleen) of Charleston, grandchildren Tessa and Jason both of Cornwall, brothers Bill of Liverpool, and Sidney (Jeanette) of Charleston, Sherlocke, brother in law Bill Schnare, sisters in law Betty (Donald Parks), Marg Rafuse, Adelaide Rafuse, and Aleta Rafuse, special niece Brenda Plummer, Brian Lawrence and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters Elaine (Harry MacKinnon) and Jean (Russell Croft) and brothers John and Pat and sister in law Hilda Rafuse.
A Celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool. A private family committal will take place after the service.
