We shared many morning chats over the Chronicle Herald and I will forever remember him sharing his sandwiches at lunch in the sunroom with Rainy out of everyone’s sight.

Dearest George, so many memories from a friendship spanning 40+ years. You taught me to play bridge, through tears at times as you marveled at my ineptitude. We enjoyed many shared Christmases and summer days of BBQ’S and wine. You will be missed. Sincere condolences to you Carole and to your extended family. I wish I were closer to share this time with you all. Much love from my house to yours.

Mrs. Patterson, Gordon, Keith, Ian, and Andrew,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Mr. Paterson’s passing. As I reflect on the cherished memories from our childhood on the street, I’m reminded of the special moments we shared. Mr. Paterson was always there, connecting with us kids, sharing his passion for trains, and encouraging us to pick choke cherries for that unique choke cherry wine. And, of course, the unforgettable joy of smashing the gingerbread house and indulging in spaghetti at those fantastic parties each year. Mr. Patterson always seemed larger than life!
Sending you all heartfelt hugs during this difficult time.
Warmest regards, Lisa

I have many connections with the Family as a neighbour ,Teacher of all the sons and Carol as My Main Lady in Producing “Grease”! However , That drink of Scotch on Zwicker Avenue? It didn’t go without an explanation of where it came from! Rest in Peace George!

Kreon (Casey) and Anne Cyros
To Carol and the boys, our deepest condolences! The world has lost another good man. While Anne went through school with George, it wasn’t until I met him at a much later school reunion on Somerville Beach years ago that I got to know George. Over the many remaining years, we shared memorable visits, trips to PEI, vineyard tours in NS, Thanksgivings at our cottage, hefty conversations about world politics, and documented stories of his and Carol’s world travels. While I did not share his love of fine whiskies, we always enjoyed his home-brewed beer and wine. A man for all seasons, we also will miss him terribly. Carry on George – until we meet again.

Most sincere condolences to Carol and family. George was a friend, a colleague at work and in later years one of a group of us who shared a few suds on Friday afternoons at the tavern. There are so many stories of our years at Bowater but I will share one that comes to mind. I followed George after his term as company rep for the CPPA Atlantic Branch. On my first trip in this capacity, I was asked if I could play the piano because George always tickled the ivories and entertained everyone after the days meetings. I told him when I came back that I could not fill his shoes. His railways, village and trains spectacular and awe inspiring. I raise a Kieth’s to my friend George. Rest in Peace.
Fred Giffin
Sincere condolences to Carole and family. So many memories at work, on company trips and after our weekly times of conversation and a few suds at the tavern. His trains, village and all that went with it was a most spectacular and awe inspiring testament to an admirable talent. I raise a Kieth’s to you George. Rest in Peace my friend.
Mary Keirstead
Mrs. Paterson and Family,
I was saddened to hear that my friend George has passed away. We met at the Queens Place walking track. I walked faster than he did, passing him quite a few times. Finally I slowed down and introduced myself and we had a lovely chat. After that there were many days when we’d pass a few laps, checking up on our families, discussing the world situation, reminiscing about this and that. I told him about my family cottage at Sebim Beach and he remembered his family renting that very cottage years ago! I wish I had known George longer. He was a lovely, kind man and I’ll miss him. Please accept my sympathy and best wishes.
