OXFORD – Norma M., 84, of Liverpool, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
Born in Brooklyn, Queens County, Norma was a daughter of the late James and Mildred (Zwicker) Hurshman.
Norma enjoyed gardening and knitting as well as spending time with her friends and family especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Norma is survived by her daughters Susan Evans and Jackie (Kevin) Dalby, both of Liverpool. Tammy Russell of Maple Ridge, BC. Her son Terry Russell (Patty McGrady) of Charleston. Her grandchildren Karen and Jeremy Dalby, Kayla Watkins, Cody French, Patrick Russell and Allison Mandseth. Her great grandchildren Aleah Dalby, Luke Daniels, Ryver and Ryder Watkins, Tristen and Melisa Russell. Her brother Jim of Milton.
Besides her parents, Norma was predeceased by her daughter Vicki Russell, her grandsons Shane Evans and Travis Mandseth and her brothers Maurice and Arthur.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. At Norma’s request, there will be no funeral service. No flowers by request, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com

Dear Jackie and family,
I was so sorry to hear that your Mom has passed away. Although I didn’t know your Mom personally, just reading the condolences above makes me wish I had. You have suffered a tremendous loss in your lives and it must be even more difficult to have this happen so close to Christmas.
We each grieve in our own way, and that’s okay. Some days will be harder than others, but I encourage you to honour your Mother’s memory by sharing stories with each other of happier times that you shared with your Mom over the years. There will be some that make you laugh, (and that’s okay, too!) while others might bring a tears to your eyes – but it’s all part of the healing process.
Hold those memories close to your heart – they are treasures that will help you get through all of this. Take your time, knowing that a hurting heart is a fragile thing. However, you might find that you are stronger than you think. Now is the time for you to take good care of yourself and do what is best for you.
