OLIVER – Muriel L., 88, of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens Manor, Liverpool on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
Born in Liverpool, she was a daughter of the late George and Agnes (Feener) Van Norden.
Muriel Oliver, commonly known as “Dugie”, was a devoted family woman who loved all the generations within her family equally. She enjoyed cooking and baking, but was best known for her coconut cream pies.
Dugie enjoyed caring for senior ladies in the Milton area even when she became one herself. She was an avid member of the Baptist Church Auxiliary in Milton. Dugie was a community minded woman who always made time for family, friends and fun. She would open her home and heart whether she knew you or not. She lived life to the fullest and will be missed dearly by all.
Dugie is survived by her daughter Rebecca “Becky” Williams and her son Alan, both of Milton, grandson Mitchell Williams of Lethbridge, Alberta and great-grandchildren Payton and Cohen Williams.
Besides her parents, Dugie was predeceased by her husband Lyman Everett “Russell”, her daughter Serena, her son Lyman, her sisters Winnifred Atkinson and Dorothy Golden and her brothers Clifford, Fred, Asa, Clyde and Bruce.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A celebration of Dugie’s life will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. in Chandlers’ Funeral Chapel, Liverpool with prayers being said at 8:00 p.m. Family flowers only, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.

Dugie, I knew you well and for that I will be eternally grateful. I have fond memories of you and Russie from a young girl. I loved your way of joking and telling stories. I use to bring you cucumbers for your pickle making, delicious. I always felt like your home was like my second home, thank heavens and I wish I could tell you that in person. The last time I saw you, you were in the Manor, you did your best to communicate with me, by just holding my hand. I will hold that comforting hand against my heart always. When you arrive at the gates to heaven, tell them that you’re good friends with Mickey and that will get you in faster! I will always love and miss you dear lady! Love an Eastside tom girl.❤️
