OLIVER – Catherine E. 92, of Caledonia, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Thursday, May 30, 2019.
Born in Ernestown, ON, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Gleeson) Swift.
Catherine was a former receptionist at the Roseway Hospital in Shelburne. She worked in a nursing home and also cooked in a restaurant. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, singing, doing crosswords and reading. She was a faithful member of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in West Caledonia.
Catherine is survived by her daughter Donna (Lloyd) Bond of West Green Harbour; her son Larry of North Milton, PEI. Two grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her sister Alice Marie Bacsu of Toronto as well as many nieces and nephews.
Catherine was predeceased her husband Clarence; her granddaughter Diane; a great-grandson;her sister Leona Ann Camelon and daughter-in-law Wendy Jane Oliver.
Visitation and funeral mass will be held at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, West Caledonia on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with mass at 11:00 a.m. Father Charles Offor officiating. Cremation to follow. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to St. Jerome’s Catholic Church or North Queens Fire Association. A Lovely lady, we met her at church in West Caledonia and church functions. She was very friendly and always smiling.

I am very sorry to learn of Kay’s passing. She was a kind and beautiful person. My deepest condolences to all the family.
Dear Larry and Donna: our deepest condolence for the loss of your mother Catherine. Although we lived far away and only had the chance to meet your mom a few times, she loomed large in our mother Leona’s stories of her youth. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

Larry and Donna please know how sorry I feel in the passing of your mom. She was a beautiful lady whom I enjoyed spending time with. Her memory will remain within my heart forever. She is now at peace in her new home May God’s presence guide you both through this sad time

Please accept my sincerest condolences. I certainly enjoyed my visits with Catherine. She loved to show me the beautiful outfits her sister would send to her at the changing of the seasons. Catherine was such a lovely lady with a very strong will and I will miss her.
So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing Larry, she was a beautiful lady, inside & out. I always enjoyed chatting with her even though it wasn’t enough.times. She will be missed by you & Donna, & many others. Keep her memories close @ heart & find. comfort in knowing that she is at peace now.

Larry and Donna,
We are very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. We enjoyed getting to know Kay and were always impressed by her sharp memory, even as her health declined.
