January 14, 2021 88 Condolences

Murrayinframe 3

Oickle, Murray Joseph Jr. passed away suddenly at home in Marriotts Cove on January 10th, 2021 at the young age of 47.
Born and raised in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Murray was a past employee of Oakhill Sawmill and a current employee of Michelin in Bridgewater where he worked for the past 12 years. Murray will be remembered by his infectious laugh, sense of humour and smile that lit up any room he was in. He loved listening to music, especially his favourite band Metallica and had a keen interest in playing guitar. Murray enjoyed going for early morning drives with his devoted loving partner Catherine with whom he spent his last 6 years.
Some things Murray was very passionate about include: Classic Cars, Oak Island, trying new foods, biking and Nascar. He was most proud of his two daughters Morgan and Emily whom he loved very much and enjoyed spending his time with.
He is survived by his two daughters Morgan (Tyler) of New Brunswick, Emily (Jeremy) of Kentville, and loving partner Catherine, his father Murray Oickle Sr. (Patricia) of Brooklyn, his brother Donald (Kelsey) of Alberta, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Murray is predeceased by his mother Catherine, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and the mother of his children Kim Booth.
Family service will be held Monday January 18th at 3pm at Chandlers’ Funeral Home in Liverpool. Due to covid restrictions it will be invitation only, Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Thomas (for being there), Phillip Stevens for his quick response, paramedics and SSRH. Flowers and donations in Murray’s memory can be made to the Leukemia Society of Nova Scotia and he would ask for everyone to donate blood if they are able. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.

Dear Pat and Murray. Just a little note of condolence to you and family at Murray’s passing. It’s so hard to lose those we love especially so young. We did not have the pleasure of knowing your son, but it sounds like he was a breath of fresh air. Our Lord by His Holy Spirit sustains and keeps us through life’s tragedies and losses. May He continue to minister His peace and comfort to you at this difficult time and in the days to come. Not sure if you remember us, but we ministered at Charleston Baptist for Corey Pickens while Goldie Schnare was still with us. Love and prayers. Len & Barb Wile.

    Dear Morgan and Emily ,

I am still in shock and so saddened after hearing of your Dad’s sudden passing . My heart goes out to you both and all the family at this very difficult time .
Your Dad started coming to my salon when he was just a teenager and also was one of the last clients to come in for his haircut before I retired . I knew early on that he was a special person , so polite and kind with a smile that cannot be forgotten . No matter how my day was going , I always knew that when he came along , we would end up laughing about one silly thing or another .
I hope your memories of the laughs and fun times you all had together will help you in the coming days and weeks .

    Take Care ,
    ~ Donna Marie

Junior was always a polite and sweet young man growing up, and he did have a beautiful smile and a big heart. To Murray, Donald, Katherine, Patricia, Emily, Morgan, and all the aunts, uncles, and cousins, I send my heartfelt condolences. I was shocked when my sister told me and I am still in shock. From a parent’s perspective, my heart goes out to you, Murray. I know I would be devastated if one of my children passed before me. Share your grief, go through pictures, recall fun times and you will feel him close to your heart. RIP Murray Joseph Oickle Jr. Fly high.
