
OICKLE; Georgina Hazel, passed away on September 3, 2018 at the age of 91, in North Queens Nursing Home, Caledonia where she had been a resident for five years. She was the last surviving member of her family,
Born November 1, 1926 in Molega Mines, Queens County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Cecilia (Jones) Whynot.
Georgina spent most of her adult life in Ontario before returning a number of years ago to live with her sister Ruth, in South Brookfield, Queens County.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Georgina was predeceased by her husband James Oickle, sisters Ellen (in infancy), Myrtle, (Fred) Wharton, Laura (Lawrence “Laurie”) Wamboldt, Mae (Lawrence Wamboldt/ Wray Osborne), Verna (Lester) Hanley, Ruth (Edgar “Eddie) Crouse. Brothers Gilbert (in infancy), Lewis, Alvin (Noreen), Irving (Thelma), Clarence, Fraser (Beatrice) and Gladwin.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. No visitation by request. A graveside memorial service will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chelsea on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in Georgina’s memory may be made to North queens Nursing Home, Caledonia. So sorry to hear of Georgina”s passing.Met Georgie at North Queens while our Mom was also a resident.Since Mom”s passing we have often wondered about her.Don’t know what it was about Georgie ,maybe it was the smile that would light up her face when you spoke to her and how she would grasp my hand when I spoke to her.My family and I always enjoyed seeing Georgie on our visits at North Queens .May you RIP Georgie.
