Zona A. Hatt

d. Sep 9, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Zona Arlene Hatt, 68, of Milton, Nova Scotia, announce her passing on September 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Zona moved to Liverpool, Nova Scotia, at a young age and spent much of her life in the community she cherished. She dedicated her career to nursing, a profession she was deeply passionate about. Over the years, she worked in Alberta and the Northwest Territories before returning home to Nova Scotia, where she continued caring for others at Queen's Manor until health concerns led to her early retirement.

Zona found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a variety of crafts. Known for her generous spirit, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and devoted countless hours volunteering with many organizations throughout her community.

One of Zona's greatest pleasures was spending summers with her family in the Magdalen Islands, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Zona is survived by her loving husband, Stephen W. Hatt, and her son, Stephen F. Hatt (Shelby Whynot), both of Milton, Nova Scotia.

She was predeceased by her parents, John Turner and Etta Westhaver; her stepfather, Morris Westhaver; and her brothers, Forde Turner and Donnie Turner.

Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, Nova Scotia. In keeping with Zona's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
