We the family of the late Melanie Wolfe would like to announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister on August 10, 2022, at South Shore Regional Hospital at the age of 35 with family at her side.
Melanie was born in Liverpool to the proud parents of Johnnie and Pamela (Heasman) Broome of Port Mouton N.S.
Melanie worked at Veinot’s Footwear in Liverpool while she was in high school. She was a very caring and passionate person who loved to help people and enjoyed spending time with her grandparents, Arch and Phyllis Broome. These two things are what made Melanie decide her career path in the long-term care field as a CCA studying at the Lunenburg Community College and receiving her degree.
After graduating, Melanie worked at North Queens Nursing Home in Caledonia where she gained many new friends and held them close to her heart. Melanie was also the Secretary and sister of the local CUPE chapter 2997. In an effort to provide the best for their children, Chris and Melanie started Lake Nancy Cabinetry where they worked side by side.
Over Melanie’s career, she met many new people and lost many people that she held close to her heart. She was truly a kind hearted soul. On June 26, 2010, Melanie married the love of her life, Chris with her family and friends in attendance. Melanie and Chris both loved kids and over time together welcomed the birth of their three beautiful children Payton, Hayden and Bryson. When Melanie held her kids, she would have a look of accomplishment on her face. Melanie and Chris’ love was unconditional. She always knew what to say to make things better.
At the age of 8, Melanie began taking piano lessons from Yvette Fisher and continued to practice this skill, even taking numerous exams at Acadia University to become an accomplished piano player. She unselfishly shared her musical talent by playing for her Sunday School, her church when the organist was not available, for the residents at the North Queens Nursing home and, most importantly, for her children.
Although Melanie was not an official member of the North Queens Fire Association, she shared this passion with her husband Chris. Being a firefighter’s wife, she often went above and beyond this role to help out with any and everything that was needed.
Melanie is survived by her husband of 12 years, Chris; daughter, Payton; sons, Hayden and Bryson;
brother, Chris (Karen) Broome of Beech Hill N.S.; brother Sheldon Broome of Port Mouton; father in-law and mother-in-law, Doug and Janette (Uhlman) Wolfe of Caledonia N.S; sister in law, Angela (John) Shorter of Tantallon N.S, grand mother, Ethel Heasman of Port Mouton, grandfather, John Heasman of Langley, BC and great great aunt, Sarah Smith of Liverpool N.S. She is also survived by many aunts and uncles.
Melanie is predeceased by her 2 still born children and her grand parents, Arch and Phyllis Broome of Port Mouton N.S; uncle, John Heasman of BC and sister-in law, Ann-Marie Wolfe of Caledonia.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandler’s Funeral Home, Liverpool N.S.. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at 11:00 am at the North Queens Fire Hall, Caledonia. North Queens Fire Department Chaplain, Carol Smith officiating. No flowers by request. Donations can be made towards the children’s education fund through the North Queens Fire Department. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
