It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the sudden passing of Victor “Vic” William Westhaver on October 3, 2025, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, NS. Vic passed away peacefully at the age of 73, surrounded by his loved ones in a space filled with love.
Born in Liverpool, Vic was a son of the late George and Jean (Stevens) Westhaver.
Vic was known for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and his love of life’s simple joys. He brought laughter and light to everyone around him and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and treasured memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family. He found true happiness outdoors and was never more at peace than when he was on the water, doing what he loved most — fishing.
Vic had a true love for adventure — whether it was camping with his wife or traveling to explore every harbour he passed, he always made time to stop, connect, and make new friends along the way. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and biking and sharing the stories about the trips taken with his friends. He found joy in sharing his passions with his family, teaching them the skills and knowledge he gathered throughout his life. Vic was never afraid to speak his mind, a quality that made him both genuine and deeply respected by everyone who knew him. There was no job too big or project too challenging — if something needed to be done, Vic would find a way to make it happen. Though he is no longer with us, Vic’s spirit will forever be felt in the hearts of those who loved him and in the quiet places he cherished most — especially by the water where he found his greatest peace.
Vic is survived by his loving wife, Judith, of Liverpool; his sons Danny (Celeste) of Greenfield and Darren (Karen) of Liverpool; and his cherished grandchildren Jessica (Robyn) of Lower Sackville, Jaime of Liverpool, Alex of Lower Sackville, and Kaelin of Liverpool. He is also survived by his brothers Maurice (Judy) of Ontario and George (Peggy Williams) of Liverpool. Vic leaves behind many dear friends who will remember him with great fondness, warmth, and affection.
Besides his parents, Vic was predeceased by his sisters Gladys Hurshman, Marion Dolliver, Sheila Rhyno, Debbie Roy, Ellen Rhyno and infant sister Margaret. Brothers Burton, Victor, James and infant brother Reginald.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Vic’s Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. No flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be made below.
