Vaughn C. Dauphinee

d. June 6, 2026

DAUPHINEE, Vaughn C. 86, of Liverpool passed away peacefully at Queens General Hospital on June 6, 2026.

Born in Liverpool, Vaughn was a proud member of the Liverpool Volunteer Fire Department and served the community for 29 years, finally retiring with the rank of Assistant Deputy Chief. He was a founding member of the Queens Ground Search and Rescue and in his younger days was an auxiliary member of the Liverpool Town Police. Dad could fix anything he tried his hand at, especially anything with a small engine. There were times he could tell by the sound of the motor what was wrong with it and fix it. He worked at Corbett’s Gun and Tackle repairing and assembling snowmobiles, motorcycles and boat motors as well as working for years at the Liverpool Advance working as a printer, typeset operator and fixing anything that broke. He later worked as a delivery truck driver for Cunard Fuels and then Irving Oil Ltd up until he retired after many long nights and weekends making sure customers had their heating fuel. Our dad loved spending time in the woods hunting, cutting firewood and just going for a walk in the woods. He loved his family and did everything he could to raise us right. His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and little great granddaughter. His face would light up whenever he saw them. Dad loved country music, especially Blue Grass. He and Mom travelled all over the province to Blue Grass and Country Music festivals. He enjoyed playing guitar and talking to people (there are no strangers in Blue Grass, only friends you have not met).

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Margaret Dauphinee (Anthony), four children: daughter Catherine (William) Crozier of RedcliƯ, AB, and sons Paul (Belinda) Dauphinee of Liverpool, Greg (Ezter) Dauphinee of Hammonds Plains, and Scott (Shona) Dauphinee of Liverpool. Grand Children: Sarah (Kevin) Haines, Alyssa Crozier, Natasha Crozier all of Alberta, Megan Dauphinee of Bedford, Andrew Dauphinee, Kelly Dauphinee, David Dauphinee all of Liverpool and Annika Dauphinee of Hammonds Plains. Great granddaughter: Avery Gallelli of Alberta. Dad is

predeceased by his parents William and Pearl Dauphinee, sister Barbara Corbett, and brother Meredith Dauphinee.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS, and a private family graveside service will take place at a later date. The family requests no flower; donations to be made to SHAID Animal Shelter or the Liverpool Firefighters Association. Online condolences may be made at www.chandlersfuneral.com.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Macfarland, Dr. Ernest and the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Queens General Hospital. An extra special thank you to Dad’s Caregivers who helped Dad remain at home as long as possible.
