Lion Robert E. L. Trainor

TRAINOR – Lion Robert E.L., 81, of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport, N.S. with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late Frank Sr. and Shirley (Pressman) Trainor.
Robert worked for his Dad at New Systems Dry Cleaners, BMO, was a car salesman and a key machine maintenance person. Robert was heavily involved with the Liverpool Lions Club and started the Lions Radio Bingo which is still going strong even today. He was also involved with Privateer Days. Over his lifetime, he loved golfing and bowling, loved his Blue Jays and had taken Linda to several games in Toronto and took a trip across Canada to visit family. Family was important to Robert and visited his grandchildren as often as possible.
Robert is survived by his wife of 15 years Linda (Pardy)(Mossman); sons Blaine (Tramanh) and Gregory (Susan); sister Lorraine “Cookie”; brothers Frank Jr. (Gabrielle), Fred (Carol); step-daughters Susan (Scott) Gordon, Sandi Mossman (Matthew Swindell); grandchildren Olivia and Amy Trainor and step-grandchildren Tristian, Brandon and Holly Gordon as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Robert is predeceased by his son Kurt, sister Betty Moller and his brother Walter.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S. A Lions Memorial Service followed by a Celebration of Life will be held at Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. December 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held at the Liverpool Baptist Church Vestry, following the service. Burial will take place at a later date. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Society, Dementia Society, Canadian Cancer Society, VON Queens Branch or Surf Lodge Nursing Home as well as a charity of your choice.
