BAKER – Sheila Olive, 84, of Liverpool, Queens County passed away Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, in Surf Lodge, Lockeport, Nova Scotia.
Born in Liverpool, Sheila was a daughter of the late Frederick and Gladys (Oickle) Jollimore.
Sheila loved to walk and was always seen around town with her husband Billy. She enjoyed talking on the phone with her sisters and brothers and she loved her daily calls to her sister-in-law Marnie and Jack. Sheila always enjoyed shopping and looked forward to her yearly shopping trip to Halifax with Marnie and Allie. She loved to go to yard sales with both Crystal and Calvin and her sister-in-law Marnie. In the spring, she loved to watch for her flowers in the yard to bloom, she was very protective of her rhododendrons. Calvin always teased her about cutting them down and she was quick to tell him what she thought of that. Sheila was a very caring and protective mother and grandmother and was so proud of both her daughter Crystal and granddaughter Erin’s accomplishments and loved spoiling them both. Sheila was always delighted to hear from Erin on her globetrotting trips, she loved to receive her postcards and trinkets from Erin’s various travels. Crystal is quoted as saying I will miss my phone calls with mom. I checked in with her throughout the day, sometimes 8 or 10 times just to make sure she was ok and for her to know that I was ok. I miss those calls the most, they don’t replace a visit or a hug, but I always got “I love you” before she hung up. She was awesome and stubborn, but the best mom.
Sheila is survived by her daughter Crystal (Calvin) Brannen of White Point, N.S., granddaughter Dr. Erin Spinney (Dr. Glenn Iceton) of Saint John, N.B., Step granddaughter Tara Lee Brannen of Toronto and Chastity (Francis) MacLaughlin of Cochrane, Alberta; sisters Lilly (Jens) Karlsen of Hunts Point, N.S., Donna Conrad of Liverpool, N.S. and Becky Long of Burnaby, B.C.; brother Eddie (Beulah) Jollimore of Fredericton, N.B, sister-in-law Marnie Hatt of Liverpool, N.S., and many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, Sheila was predeceased by her husband Billy and her sister Rose Mary Wood.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S. A graveside service for Sheila will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Surf Lodge, Lockeport, N.S. or a charity of choice. Online Condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com.
