Carver - Sandra B., 77, of Caledonia, Queens County, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, July, 17, 2025.

Born in Caledonia, Sandra was a daughter of the late Walter and Isabel (Ford) Lohnes.

During her lifetime, Sandra was involved in many things. Most of her career was spent working in the administrative field at Kejimkujik National Park. She was a lifelong learner, a gardener, a humanitarian, a master creator of artisan soaps, lotions and candles, an outdoors enthusiast and an avid traveler.

She volunteered with many organizations and was passionate about her work with the North Queens Meals on Wheels program which she established in the area and coordinated for over twenty five years.

Sandra was on the board of the Queens Learning Network, actively involved in the life and work of Caledonia United Church, South Shore Presbytery, a past member of the Queens General Hospital Board, North Queens Health Centre and many other groups.

She will be remembered as a caregiver. Many people came into her life whom she was able to support through difficult times. Her life was filled with family, wonderful friends, lots of travel, adventures and enough difficult times to make her appreciate all the positive ones. Her greatest asset was her husband, Robert, who supported and encouraged her through all her exciting adventures as well as her difficult moments.

Surviving are her husband Robert; her son Thad (Tracy McLeod). Her grandchildren Even Whynot (Kelsey), Robyn Whynot and Shanyn Whynot. Her great granddaughter Hadleigh Whynot. Her brother Paul (Edie) of South Milford.

Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her sister Connie McIntosh.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from Caledonia United Church. Reverend Carol Smith officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Caledonia, NS. No flowers by request, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made below
