Rosemary R. (Johnson) Whalen

It is with heavy hearts, but a lifetime of unforgettable memories, that we announce the passing of Rosemary "Rosie" (Johnson) Whalen, who left us peacefully on June 11, 2026. Rosie was a true force of nature - a woman completely full of life, boundless laughter, and an unfiltered spirit that left a permanent mark on everyone she met.

To know Rosie was to love her, and to occasionally be terrified of her. She was a woman of fierce independence and zero filter; she would just as easily curse you out or playfully threaten to hit you as she would pull you into a tight hug. She held nothing back, and that was exactly her charm. Beneath her fiery exterior beat a massive heart of gold, and she had an endless amount of love to give to her family, her friends, and anyone lucky enough to be brought into her circle.

Rosie’s greatest legacy is her family, whom she loved fiercely. She is survived by her devoted sons, Randell Johnson (Danielle) and Jason Johnson. She was the proud grandmother of Tyrone (Kyra), Torian, and Tyreese (Tiffany). She also leaves behind the absolute light of her life, her great-granddaughter Scarlett, whom she thought the absolute world of. Also surviving are her eight siblings.

Rosie was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Myrtle (Warrington) Johnson as well as a sister and three brothers.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. At Rosie’s request, there will be no service. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
