Ronald L. Daury

d. Jun 17, 2026

It is with great shock and sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald “Ronnie” Leroy Daury, 75, on June 17th, 2026, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by so much love.

Raised in Southwest Port Mouton, in a very full household, he later found much refuge while staying with his cherished Nanny Gertha or Aunt Hilda. In his younger years, Ronnie enjoyed activities such as pool, darts, his days as a member of the Legion, camping with his family and rabbit hunting. Until he was forced into retirement due to health issues, he spent his career at local fish plants as a cutter or lobster cart operator. Later in life he had a great passion for his yard work, going for drives to look for deer, his daily routine visits with friends/family and watching the Blue Jays.

Ronnie will be forever in the hearts of his beloved Betty Ann, daughters Nicole (David Coombs), of Cornwall, NS and Holly (Steven De Ruyck), of Red Deer, AB. His greatest joys in life, his grandson’s Joshua Hallett (Grace) of St. John, NB, Ryley Nowe of Red Deer, AB and his bonus granddaughter, Katie Coombs (Thomas Oickle) of Dartmouth, NS.

Ronnie was predeceased by his father, Osbourne, mother, Muriel and brother, Billy. Ronnie will be deeply missed by his sister Nancy Nickerson (Arnold Hupman), brothers Jackie Daury (late wife Ann), Hughie Daury (Patty), Joey Daury (Darlene) and Jimmy Daury, plus many nieces and nephews. A great support and friend was found in Cindy Whynot by Ronnie and his family.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. There will be no funeral as per Ronnie’s wishes. A celebration of life will be held next month, date to be determined. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com

On behalf of the entire family, we would like to thank the staff on the medical floor of Queens General Hospital and the absolutely amazing staff in the ICU at Yarmouth Regional Hospital who went and above & beyond. We also want to thank Dr. Joshi for trying his absolute best to do all that he could over the past two months.

We want to thank those of you who have stopped by with cards, flowers and sweets. We appreciate the many phone calls and messages of support as we navigate through our loss.
