Fancy - Rodney A., 61, of Westfield, Queens County, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Born in Caledonia, Rod was a son of the late Avery and Frances (Mansfield) Fancy.

Rod worked in the woods and sawmills all his life. He was a country and bluegrass lover and had a very powerful voice that was recognized by everyone, everywhere, along with his band “Little Mountain”. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the fall. His favourite book was “The Tent Dweller” which he read many times.

Surviving are his wife Wilma (Frail); his step sons Colin (Amanda Hack) of Westfield; Rex (Cora) and Troy (Angela), both of Moose Jaw, SK; Allan (Donelda) of Wayburn, SK and Jonathan (Samantha) of Milton, NS. Nine step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. His sister Carolyn (Rodney) Crouse of South Brookfield.

Besides his parents, Rod was predeceased by his sisters Anna Foley and Edith Mansfield.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery, Westfield. Donations may be made to South Shore Palliative Care, North Queens Fire Department or to Queens County Branch of the VON. Online condolences may be made below.
