Robert Alexander Wilkinson

Robert A. Wilkinson, 88, of Liverpool, NS, passed away on June 13, 2025, at Queens General Hospital.

Robert was born in Renfrew, ON, a son of the late Oscar and “Jessie” (Stewart) Wilkinson.

He graduated from Queen’s University in 1961 with a chemical engineering degree and worked in Dalhousie, NB, Trois-Rivières, QC, Espanola, ON, Michelin in Clermont, France, and paper mills in Stephenville, NL, Terrace Bay, ON, and then many years at the Bowater Mersey Paper Company. He served on the boards of the Liverpool Curling Club and Queens Manor and enjoyed curling, sailing and spending time at his cottage.

He is survived by sons Jean-Pierre (Belén) of Montreal, QC, Edward of Lunenburg, NS, and Robert (Sara) of Digby, NS; grandchildren Siobhan, Ciarán, Samuel, Hannah, and Olivia; sister Evelyn (Dave) Martin of Renfrew, ON.

Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his wife, Carol, brothers Stanley, Douglas, James, and sister Marion Warren.

Cremation has taken under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. As per Robert’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Queens General Hospital Foundation. Online condolences may be made below.
