Arthur Eugene Moreau

Moreau – Arthur Eugene, Bridgewater formerly of Port Medway.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Eugene Moreau, age 84, on December 4, 2023 at Hillside Pines, Bridgewater, NS.
Arthur was born at home in Mill Village, a son of the late Edwin and Edna (Dauphinee) Moreau.
Arthur was the fifth of six children and attended school at Mill Village, but left at the very early age of twelve to help his father and the family. He later went to work at various jobs throughout his life retiring from the fish plant in Port Medway.
Arthur lived at the family home for most of his life until he married Sadie Moreau in 1996 and moved to her home a short distance away.
He was a very kind hearted soul and would readily do anything within his means for anyone. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling with friends, building crafts in his workshop and Sunday drives. One of his favourite things was to go with his nephews, Jerry and Donnie, for a feed of fish and chips at various locations. One could say that Arthur was definitely a connoisseur of fish and chips. He also very much enjoyed the time he spent visiting with his family and friends.
Arthur is survived by his sister Eva Knickle, sister in law Donna Moreau, step children: Henry (Sherri) Moreau, Wilfred Moreau, Gordon (Cathy) Moreau, Diane (James) Gallant. Step grandson Perry Moreau. Nephews George (Ardith) Knickle, Donald Clattenburg, Michael (Sally) Moreau. Nieces Ethel (Wallace) Crouse, Marion Clattenburg and several great nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his wife Sadie (Weagle), step daughter Marie Bollivar, sisters Leatrice Clattenburg, Lillian Parnell, Alma Moreau. Brother Carmen. Nephews Jerry Parnell and Michael Clattenburg.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Mill Village Community Cemetery. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be made to www.chandlersfuneral.com
As a final word, the members of Arthur’s family wish to thank Dr. Everett Weagle and the staff of Hillside Pines for their consideration and personal care shown to Arthur during his stay.
