Shirley Loraine Miller

April 23, 1936 – March 10, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents, Lina and Arch Taylor and her daughter Sally Rodenhiser. She is survived by her brother, Archibald Edward Taylor Jr., son, Donald Grant, grandchildren Taylor Rodenhiser, Brittany Zinck, Jason Grant and Joanna Grant, and three great grandchildren, Bronson, Dallas, and Lily Zinck. It is with great fortune that Shirley met her 4 week old great granddaughter for the first time on the last full day of her life.
Shirley was born and raised in Bridgetown, NS, graduating from the Bridgetown High School with a group of friends that lasted a lifetime. She married and began her family in Bridgetown, before moving to Yarmouth, and then Bridgewater where her children began their own independent lives. Following, she returned to Yarmouth, picking up old friendships and making many new ones. This period of her life may have been one of her happiest, marrying Richard Vernon Judge, who suddenly and unfortunately passed away far too early.
Shirley cared for her mother until she passed away in 2007. Shirley’s final home was Queens Manor in Liverpool. While she was only there for the last 15 days of her life, the care and compassion shown toward her by the staff can only be described as unparalleled. Our family could not have hoped for more and we wish to express our eternal gratitude – Thank You for making Shirley’s last days the best that they ever could be.
At Shirley’s request, cremation has already occurred. No ceremony or memorial will occur. Interment will occur later this year, where family only will be in attendance. To share memories or condolences, please visit
