Mildred Syvilla Rhyno

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Mildred Syvilla Rhyno on November 1, 2025 in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, NS.

Mildred was a daughter of the late Charles and Nina (Huphman) Williams.

Mildred loved going to dances at the Legion, attending variety shows and Seniors Club on Thursdays. She loved Elvis. Mildred was up for anything unless it was Bingo night; she was never too sick for Bingo. She was always making everyone smile with her good sense of humour and her stories. Nanny Mil loved all her grandkids.

Mildred is survived by her six lovely children: Shirley (Louie) Lapensee of Ontario, John (Sharon) Rhyno of Milton, Barbara (David) Weaver of Milton, Wayne (Rachelle) Rhyno of British Columbia, Paula (Gary) Thorburne of Liverpool, Jamie Rhyno (Tanya Roy) of Milton. Thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Her niece Catherine Williams who was more like a sister.

Besides her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband Vernon; her infant grandson, her sisters Christina and Margaret and her brothers Lewis, Sydney, Stanley and Clarence.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign. Online condolences may be made below.
