Maurice "Skinny" Edward Wolfe

WOLFE - Maurice “Skinny” E., 87, of Brooklyn, Queens County, N.S., passed away peacefully Friday, August, 28, 2026, at Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, N.S., with family by his side.

Born in Liverpool, Skinny was a son of the late Virgil and Vernice (MacLeod) Wolfe.

Skinny received his nickname at an early age and the name stuck, very few new him by Maurice, and if you called him by Maurice he was quick to let you now I am “Skinny”. Skinny worked for 38 years as a linesman and in later years as a foreman with Nova Scotia Power Corporation. He loved fishing and hunting with his brother in law and his three sons out in God’s Country. He enjoyed his poker games with friends and time spent at the family cottage. He loved his 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, who he was so proud of, but above all else family meant everything and to him this truly was the greatest gift of all.

Skinny is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Shirley; daughter Annette Whynot of Brooklyn, N.S.; sons Robert (Colleen) of Milton, N.S., Timothy (Vicky) and Christopher (Cindy Wentzell) all of Brooklyn, N.S.; grandchildren Aydan, Nicole, Johnathan, and Brittany; great grandchildren Kyra, Jala, Adessa, Bobby, Benny and Haley; sister Diane Wamboldt of Milton, N.S.

Besides his parents, Skinny was predeceased by sister Yvonne Fretagge and brother Virgil Wolfe Jr.

Cremation has taken place under the direction and care of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, N.S. In keeping with Skinny’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
