Whynot - Marilyn E., 75, of Milton, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Monday, September 22nd after a long courageous battle with underlying health conditions surrounded by her granddaughters and caregivers.
Born in Liverpool, Marilyn was the daughter of late Virgil J. and Jeannie K. (Colp) Whynot.
Marilyn was a former employee of Queens Manor, where she worked for many years in housekeeping. Anyone who knew Marilyn knew how much she loved her bingo, lobster and cooking. You could taste the amount of love she put into each meal as she whistled through her kitchen. Food was her love language with many meals shared with those who didn’t have a place to go on a holiday, the door was always open. She had a heart of gold and never begrudged anyone. Marilyn loved her TV series, The Bold & The Beautiful. As well she would take any trip she could to Bridgewater or Halifax, where she could shop. Her favorite trips usually included her granddaughter to thrift stores in Halifax or Bridgewater with her friend Audrey to the Cineplex movies. Marilyn loved her family. She looked forward to any and all visits with her grandchildren on any occasion or holiday.
Surviving are her son Mark Whynot of Liverpool and step daughter Charmaine Stevens (Duane) of Port Medway. Grandchildren; Lydia (Jesse) Myalls of Brookyn, Molly Whynot of Milton, Abel (Katie) Stevens of Port Medway, Angus (Gabby) Stevens of Toronto, Ella Stevens of Port Medway, and great grandchild Francine Myalls of Brooklyn, all who will undoubtedly miss her.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her beloved spouse Boe Boutilier, step son Michael Boutilier, brother-in-law Richard Boutilier, brother Curtis (Verna) Whynot and sister Lillian (Murray) Wamboldt.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Milton Community Cemetery. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. No flowers, donations may be made to Queens Manor, 20 Hollands Drive, Liverpool, NS. Online condolences may be made below.
Marilyn would like to thank Queens General Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Andy Blackadar, VON, Palliative Care, and her in home caregivers Melissa Fisher, and Corina Huphman for the extraordinary care she has received for the past eight years.
