It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Dombowsky on October 29, 2025, at the age of 95. Marie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. Marie was brave, loving, stubborn, and fiercely devoted to her family and friends.

Marie was, in her time, a lab technician, traveller, mother, friend and pillar of her community. Her life took her from Europe to various parts of eastern Canada before she ultimately settled in her Mill Village family home, where she lived for the past several decades. In Mill Village, she has long been a beloved member of the community, volunteering with the school board, the hospital and the Queen's Adult Services Centre. She never forgot a friend, and neither distance nor time dimmed her joy in reconnecting with them, or reminiscing of them.

Marie will be lovingly remembered by her six children: Rick (Colleen), Chere (Cy Sr), Lynn (Stephen), Terry (Joanne), Paul, and Peter (Tiffany). She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Erin, Leah (J.P.), Caity, Brendan, Sydney, and Maya. Her family was her greatest joy, and her warmth and wisdom will live on in their hearts forever.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Dr. Major (ret.) Louis Dombowsky, and Flight Lieutenant Donald Schneider.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool, NS. Funeral mass will be held Monday, November 3rd, 2025 from St Gregory’s Catholic Church, Liverpool, NS at 10:00AM with Father Keith Billard officiating. Burial will be in St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery, College Street, Liverpool. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Queens General Hospital Foundation. Online condolences may be made below.
